Jamaica coach Steve McClaren is confident former Manchester United and Marseille striker Mason Greenwood will still be playing for his country.

Greenwood has already won one cap for England but FA chief executive Mark Bullingham has confirmed the 23-year-old has indicated his intention to make the international switch.

The process has been suspended as the documents required by the Jamaica Football Federation have not yet been received.

It is hoped the switch will be เล่นเกมคาสิโน UFABET ทันสมัย ฝากถอนง่าย completed by the summer. When Jamaica will play two friendlies in the UK before starting World Cup qualifiers in June. And then potentially taking part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Greenwood is currently second in the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 15 goals. But has struggled with the French club, who signed him from Manchester United in July.

Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi decided to drop the striker for last weekend’s defeat to Lens, saying Greenwood lacked consistency and that anyone who trained poorly would not play, no matter what their name was.

But McClaren, who was England manager from 2006-07 and has been in charge of Jamaica since last year, said: “We are in constant contact with him (Greenwood) and his family.”

“I am very sure he only wants to play for Jamaica. He has to decide when he wants to do that. It is now in his hands.”

McClaren also delivered some positive news around West Ham forward Michail Antonio. Whose career seemed to be in doubt when he suffered an horrific car crash in December.

The pair have spoken about the progress Antonio has made and the 34-year-old expects to be available in the summer.

“Michail has come from non-league and fought his way through to play in the Premier League, in top games in Europe and for Jamaica, making an impact wherever he goes,” said McClaren.

“The impact [of the accident] was horrendous. He is confident he will come back and is aiming for the summer period, or hopefully our World Cup qualifying group in September, October and November.

“He is a true character off the field, always bubbly and great for the squad. We miss that.

“He says the one thing he has got is motivation. When warriors have motivation, they tend to achieve their goal. His goal is to be back in the summer to help Jamaica.”
